The Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra celebrates 40 years of achievement

Venue: Tung Auditorium Yoko Ono Arts Centre, University of Liverpool,Oxford St,Liverpool.

The afternoon performance is hosted by Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra showcasing the best young talent in Liverpool. PCYO will be performing along with Liverpool Philharmonic In Harmony Liverpool Chamber Stars, Resonate Music, and The Liverpool Signing Choir.

The finale of the performance is a specially commissioned new work “Fragments of Spring” by composer by Francisco Carassco, combining South American, Chinese, western classical and brass band music.

The award winning Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra, the first and Largest Chinese Youth Orchestra in Europe was established in 1983 and are based at The Pagoda Arts Centre in city centre Liverpool.

Pagoda CEO Zi Lan Liao says “We are very much appreciated to have made so many friends in the last 40 years, and honoured to have many of them agreed to join us to celebrate our milestones throughout 2023. Giving our children and young people to recreate moments of the past 40 years.”
