Pagoda Arts is a Chinese-led arts and cultural organisation based in Liverpool, with over 40 years of artistic leadership in Chinese and Sino–British music and culture. We are recognised for producing and presenting high-quality artistic work that bridges tradition and contemporary practice, nurturing creativity across generations.
At the heart of Pagoda Arts is the Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra (PCYO), Europe’s longest-running grassroots Chinese youth orchestra, alongside pioneering fusion projects, new compositions, and support for contemporary artists. Through performance, education, and cultural exchange, we contribute to the development of British Chinese arts locally, nationally, and internationally.
Rooted in this cultural leadership, Pagoda Arts is also a trusted, culturally grounded space for learning, wellbeing, and community connection. All community support work and leadership are delivered entirely by volunteers, providing translation, advocacy, and practical guidance for individuals and families facing language barriers, isolation, hate crime, or difficulty accessing services. This work is sustained through long-standing community trust built through decades of arts and cultural practice and is currently supported in part by diminishing in-kind provision of the Pagoda Centre by Liverpool City Council.
