Tai Chi Instructor
José de la Cruz, originally from Spain. His journey with Tai Chi began as a way to alleviate back discomfort from an injury he sustained at 18 years old after falling from a tree. In 2005, José started practicing Qi Gong and Tai Chi under the guidance of Mrs. Li. His dedication and skill quickly became evident, and by 2009, Mrs. Li recognized his potential as an instructor due to his excellent techniques, positions, and peer-to-peer teaching abilities.
José embraced the opportunity to teach and participated in the Tai Chi tutor pilot scheme. He began leading beginner classes regularly at Pagoda, where he also took charge of outreach work at the African Elderly Association and started learning to teach Tai Chi to young people.
Today, José leads both beginner and intermediate classes at Pagoda Arts, sharing his passion for Tai Chi and its benefits with a diverse community. His commitment to the practice and his students continues to inspire and promote well-being through this gentle art.
