Mrs. Li is on the New Year’s Honour’s List 2014.
Mrs Li has been told she was nominated by her friends and students because they think in the past 30 years, Mrs. Li has selflessly imparted knowledge on a massive scale to what is now her extended ‘family’. She is all of these disciplines and more. She is and always has been passionate, diligent and dedicated to imparting her knowledge to all who wish to learn from her. She has never shown favour or fortune to one more than another. She has embraced all who desired to learn, whatever creed and colour and whatever age.
Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool said: “Throughout her entire career she has served her community with distinction and commitment, pride and dedication. She has extended that help to all sections of the community and has provided services tailored specifically to women and children.”
“I am very honoured to receive this award. I will like to thanks everyone who supports me and Val for nominated me and Mr. Li. This award is not just for me, but everyone at Pagoda and the community. Without everyone’s supports, Mr. Li and I will not be able to do what we have been doing in the last 30 years.” – Mrs. Li
