  • People believe that on the fifth day, many New Year taboos can be broken

 

  • People also believe that it’s the Deity of Fortune’s birthday, everyone will celebrate with a big banquet. Some people will set off firework to attract the attention of the Deity of Fortune, hoping that they will get blessed and have good fortune for the year.

  • In northern China, people celebrate by eating dumplings as dumplings are wrapped in the shape of ingots.
